How-To Switch Seamlessly from Chrome to Edge

Microsoft’s Edge web browser has much going for it, such as integration with Cortana, seamless syncing of bookmarks and passwords across all your PCs, Android smartphone and tablet, and iPhone, and it’s excellent Reading list functionality.  With each new Feature Pack in Windows it gets better, more secure, and faster.

It’s also incredibly simple to switch from Google’s Chrome browser to Edge too.  With Edge open on the desktop on the same PC on which you use Chrome, click the Settings icon (three horizontal dots in the top right corner), then from the menu that appears click Settings and then Import from another browser.

Here you can select Google Chrome, or another supported web browser, and import all of your bookmarks, browsing history, cookies, passwords and settings (such as your home page choice).  The process is seamless and quick.

This process doesn’t remove anything from Chrome either, so you can use it to evaluate Edge while you decide which browser you want to use.
